Self Control & Our Testimony

Posted by on in Weekly Encouragement Notes
Self-Control
We have completed our Fruit of the Spirit series. Over these last many weeks together we have covered, in depth, each part of this Passage found in Galatians 5:22-23. Beginning with Love and all the way through today with Self-Control, we have seen the importance of each part, with each one dependent on the other.      Self-Control is the topic of today. This word simply means:   control or restraint of oneself or one's actions, feelings, etc.   We see from the definition that this is indeed a personal matter. Most often personal matters have many levels of issues...

The Bible Teaches that God Does Not Change

Posted by on in Weekly Encouragement Notes

As Pastor, I hope and pray that your time will be blessed and your spiritual walk will be improved. It is a true joy to have you here and I certainly hope it will be the first of many more times.   Fall colors are in full swing. I always have enjoyed seeing the beautiful leaves as they change to gold, red, or whatever color God has given them. It is a wonderful reminder of His power as well as His love. He gives us such wonders to enjoy. We often get too busy to give that much thought,...

Who's Looking BACK at YOU

Posted by on in Weekly Encouragement Notes

I continue in our series: What is the Fruit of the Spirit? We have covered the subjects of love, joy, peace, patience, over the last few weeks and today we look at kindness. This seems like a foreign subject these days. I have written many times about the hate that seems to be ruling the world right now, but my heart breaks at the sight of it getting worse day by day.    The recent confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh has shown an ugliness that reaches into the depths of depravity like few have ever seen. This goes further than accusations...

For Yourself? Or for God?

The first week of October has come and gone, where has this year gone? We are starting to see some cooler weather and hopefully we will start enjoying the fall season. In many places the leaves are beginning to change and soon the colors will be spectacular; something only God can create. It is my prayer that you are here today and are ready to seek His face and enhance your spiritual walk.   It is said that we are living in the communication age. The strange thing about that is it seems that people have forgotten how to communicate with...

What's Your Agenda?

We are blessed to have been given another day. I pray that your time with us will encourage you, inspire you and at the same time challenge you in ways that will improve your spiritual walk.    The new norm that we are seeing in the world today is seek and destroy. The concept of being determined to find something on someone with the sole purpose of bringing harm to their life or damage their ability to work. Jesus had a different message. He said that He came to seek and to save. This certainly sounds better to me.   ...

Where is the Respect?

Posted by on in Weekly Encouragement Notes
respect
Welcome! Thanks for joining us this morning. It is my honor to bring the Message today. I pray as we look deeper at the subject: what is the Fruit of the Spirit? You will be both blessed and informed. Again, thank you for sharing your worship time with us today. It is wonderful to have you with us.   We are well into September; the end of the year is in sight. We have many things planned over the next few months and I certainly hope that as you see something that interests you, that you will get involved, you will...

The Bottom Line Is...

Hello! Welcome to FBC Colfax! We are so glad to have you here today. I pray that your time will be filled with blessings and that your spiritual walk will be enriched.    In a recent lesson I was teaching we spoke about the Pharisees and their refusal to hear or see anything that was not what they wanted. While this seems irrational and in many ways immature, it was exactly what they were doing. It was clearly a case of my way or no way. We see this in children or at least the attempt to pull that off, ...

Who Do You Serve??

Good morning! It is a true joy to be with you and it is my earnest prayer and desire that what is presented today will be a blessing to you and an encouragement in your spiritual walk.   If you are exposed to my ministry for any length of time you will soon learn that I am a true fan of music. I like many different kinds of music. While I certainly have my favorite artist and writers, it is often the words that I am drawn to. It is...

Where you spend your time of worship and praise and time with the Lord is an important decision. We are grateful that today, you have chosen to spend that time with us. I pray that you will feel welcomed, special and a part of our wonderful church family. I look forward to what we will do together today. I pray it will be a blessing to you.   The world has gone completely crazy. The violence, the hatred, the division, the political rhetoric, it is all gone off the cliff and to be honest, it is embarrassing. It is all...

Be The Example - Do Something

Posted by on in Weekly Encouragement Notes

Good to see everyone, I hope  that each of you are well. As always it is a joy to be with you and I am looking forward to sharing with you the Message the Lord has given me.    We continue with the Declaration of I AM series with a sermon titled: "I am the Good Shepherd." In this sermon we will focus on what this title means and the benefits that we have offered to us as a result of this being who Christ truly is.    Time, while very well not in a literal way, but it surely...
